Transportation Information For Bradley International Airport (Hartford) to UConn

An Overview and Details

Bradley International Airport ( http://www.bradleyairport.com/home/ ) is the closet airport to UConn.  It is about 40 minutes from UConn and most of the travel is by highway.  Transportation by taxi is possible, but it would be very expensive.  Two options are recommended.

The first option is to have someone meet you and bring you back to UConn.  The trip is about 40 minutes one-way.  Most UConn students would be familiar with how to get to the airport.  You will need to have already made a contact at UConn.  If you have someone who will pick you up, this is probably the best option.  ICF cannot provide pick-up service, but if you do have questions you may e-mail us prior to your departure and we will try to help.

A second option is the UConn Airport Shuttle - see below.  The price is $50 one-way.

Bus transportation is available to Storrs, but it requires a bus trip to Hartford then a transfer and finally another bus trip from Hartford to Storrs.  From Bradley, take the Bradley Flyer bus which is operated by CT Transit.  The price appears to be $1.25.  It will take approximately 25 minutes.  Go to http://www.cttransit.com/content/routesHartford.asp for schedules and maps.  Unfortuately, the drop off point in Hartford is about a five to ten minute walk to Union Station.  You can transfer from the Bradley Flyer to a downtown bus for a bus ride directly to the Union Station area.  At Union Station you will need to get a bus (Peter Pan or Bonanza - they are both the same company) to UConn.  Buses depart twice daily and the cost is $22.  The trip from Hartford to UConn will take approximately 40 minutes.  More information can be found at http://www.peterpanbus.com/tickets/fares.php .
